University Of Westminster Fashion Graduate Collections Hits The Runway

Graduates from the University of WestminsterBA (Hons) Fashion Design kicked off the Graduate Fashion show season in style as their collections were the first to grace the runway at the University’s Ambika P3 gallery in London.

Claire Barrow, Hannah Duckworth, James Barrow and Jessica Walsh were among the graduates who debuted their collections in front of a number of high-profile industry people with guests including designers Sarah Mower, Fran Burns, Alasdair Mclellan, Patrick Grant, and Ben Reardon. Whilst both Pixie Geldof and Alice Dellal walked the runway for the Westminster graduates.

This year’s graduates have already worked with internationally renowned design houses such as Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang, Chanel, Christopher Kane, Felder Felder, Gareth Pugh, Giles Deacon, Roksanda Ilincic, Jeremy Scott, Marc Jacobs, Mulberry,ProenzaSchouler,andViktor&Rolf

The University has strong links with the fashion industry, and previous graduates whose designs have graced the graduate runway show include Christopher Bailey of Burberry, Michael Herz of Bally, Stuart Vevers of Loewe, Markus Lupfer and CassettePlaya. Last year’s graduates are already making their mark in the fashion industry with design jobs at Mulberry, Puma, Burberry, Abercrombie & Fitch, Harrods, Thom Browne, Armani and Roksanda Illincic.

Andrew Groves, course director of the University of Westminster's BA (Hons) Fashion Design,said: “We can already see promising talent emerging from this year’s show and I am confident they will continue their journey into the fashion world with great success. This year’s graduates have displayed a diverse and eclectic range of aesthetics and approaches to fashion design in their collections which is something we strongly encourage them to develop during their studies. Creativity and innovation have been the key themes for this year’s runway collections and the newly graduates have produced a truly fantastic show which has already captured the attention of the fashion industry.”
